Exodus - July 6th

Our exodus to warmer climes on our 5 week adventure to Queensland and Cape York started with a rather ignominious start with a flat battery in the driveway. Starting two hours later than we expected we mananged to travel from Picton, taking a pretty alternatve county road route circling around Sydney, through the outskirts of Penrith and Richmond and along a meandering Putty Road through the beautiful screnery of Woolemi National Park. We put up the tent at Jerry Plains Rest Area just north of Woolemi near Denham as the sun went down. We finished our first night playing spotlight and then wrapped up warm, bracing against the cold night.
