True to form, it was a late start as we slowly remembered how to compress out gear, repack our 4WD and close the camper trailer.

| Hot chocolate but no marshmallows! |
 |
| Why do we pack so much? |
A driving day ensued as we headed further north along the New England Highway, passing Tamworth and onto the Celtic town of Glen Innes with the increasing elevation of the Great Dividing Ranges. We found a great free campsite at the Mother of Ducks Lagoon, at Guyra.
The night quickly cooled - vey quickly - and after dinner we clambered into bed, padded out with with many layers of clothes, shivering and feeling a bit sorry for ourselves. The family clasped their individual water bottles which was the only saving grace.
I may have a revolt on my hands soon...
